State Theatre Company South Australia’s Initiative for Emerging Local Talent
Through State Umbrella the Company selects one independent theatre production each year for special attention and support. The selected show is included in the State Theatre Company season brochure, provided with marketing support, set and costume construction labour, rehearsal support and artistic mentoring.
State Theatre Company sees the Umbrella program as an important element in the mentoring, promotion, and production of exciting independent theatre work in Adelaide.
Welcome The Bright World is our 2018 Umbrella production, a classic Australian play by Stephen Sewell returned to the stage for the first time in 35 years by emerging director Charles Sanders. The show will run at the Queen’s Theatre 20 September – 6 October.
