2021 Season – Frequently Asked Questions

Subscriptions

  • A subscription is a booking for four or more plays across our annual Season. It’s the cheapest way of purchasing tickets, plus you also get added benefits.

  • Value for money! You’ll save up to 22% when you subscribe and BASS will only charge one transaction fee of $8.95 per subscriber, rather than a fee per transaction. Subscribers have time to purchase tickets before single tickets go on sale, so you are guaranteed to get the best seats in the house. Tickets for the 2021 season are on sale for subscription only from Thursday 29 October – Monday 7 December. After this date, they will be made available to single ticket buyers.

Subscribers also receive bonuses like behind the scenes information, exclusive event invitations and discounts.

  • The easiest way is to subscribe online.

Alternatively, email both sides of the subscription form to subscriptions@bass.net.au or fill in the booking form at the back of our brochure and mail it to State Theatre Subscriptions, c/o BASS GPO Box 1269, Adelaide SA 5001. You can also call BASS on 08 8205 2200 and subscribe over the phone.

Please note: forms are processed in the order they are received and take up to ten working days to process. Box office staff will not be able to allocate your seats until your subscription request reaches the front of the queue – so get in quick!

  • For productions in the first half of 2021 (including The Boy Who Talked to Dogs, The Gospel According to Paul, Euphoria and The Appleton Ladies’ Potato Race), seats will be booked to allow for the current SA Health social distancing guidelines and any relaxation of those guidelines that may occur. Should the guidelines require seating adjustments, they will be minimal and we will contact any affected ticket holders. We will ensure that subscribers always receive the best seats in the house.

As part of our COVID safety planning, tickets will be printed and posted in February 2021. This will ensure our seating accords with the most up-to-date health guidelines at the time they are issued. We will contact ticket buyers if any minimal change from the selected seats is required.

  • Flexi subscribers get to pick their shows now and lock in their dates later. Simply build your package via our booking form or online by choosing your favourite plays and ticket types and make your payment. You’ll have the flexibility to confirm your dates any time up to the day of the performance (subject to availability). Flexi subscriptions are a fantastic option for Christmas gifting!

  • Subscribers have one free exchange per year. Subsequent exchanges will attract a processing fee. Exchanges can only be made for different performance dates and times, exchanges from one production to another are not permitted.

Exchanges must be made at least five working days before your original performance date. If the new performance has a higher ticket price, you will need to pay the difference. There are no refunds for cheaper tickets or failure to attend. Tickets cannot be exchanged after the performance for which they were originally booked. Check our ticketing terms and conditions for more information.

  • You can book for your group online for any number of subscribers. However, if you are booking for multiple subscribers, we recommend contacting BASS directly on 08 8205 2200.

Every tenth subscription in a group booking is free (i.e. book for 9 people and get the 10th free). To take advantage of this offer, bookings must be made in a single transaction. This offer is not available via online bookings, please contact BASS Subscriptions on 08 8205 2200.

  • Absolutely! If you are under 30 years, you can buy a super cheap subscription. You just need to show your ID indicating your birthdate at the time of purchase or provide a photocopy with your subscription form. The same offer applies to full-time students.
