  • Her Majesty’s Theatre has a larger capacity than the Dunstan Playhouse, which allows us to adhere to State Government social distancing requirements.

The decision to relocate has been made due to the Federal and State Governments’ public health advice in dealing with the risk of spreading novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and the recent State Government release of the Roadmap for Easing COVID-19 Restrictions. More information can be found at covid-19.sa.gov.au

It is important to note that the plans may change, as we respond to the advice from regulatory authorities and will act following government recommendations. The health and safety of our audiences and employees are of the utmost importance.

Her Majesty’s Theatre has been recently renovated, with audiences spread across three levels. It is truly a world-class theatre, with state-of-the-art lighting and sound technology, and the widest proscenium arch of any commercial theatre in Australia. The building has also been designed to allow for greater patron experience and every seat in the house is excellent.

  • Audiences at Her Majesty’s Theatre will be seated in a chequerboard layout. This allows all audience members to maintain the required distance from each other. This seating arrangement will apply to all patrons, regardless of their relationship.

  • Seating is allocated to accommodate adequate spacing in each row. For that reason, you must sit in the seat assigned to you on your ticket and will not be permitted to sit in the seat next to another patron, even if they are your friend or family. Patrons will not be permitted to move or change seats during a performance, as this may affect other audience members in the rows behind and in front.
