A Date With State

Supported by Office for Ageing Well and Seniors Card, our A Date With State program aims to support older and socially isolated patrons to continue to attend the theatre despite life changes, such as the loss of a partner or new living circumstances.

After selected performances of selected shows in Season 2026, we hold Q&As with our artists and creative teams.

Join us for tea and coffee one hour before the performance of selected matinees for A Date With State. Stay after the performance to find out more about the process of getting these great plays from page to stage.

There is no additional cost for Q&As or A Date With State, just join us on these dates:

RBG: Of Many, One – Wed 22 Apr, 11am
The Importance of Being Earnest – Wed 20 May, 11am
Logan St – Wed 5 Aug, 11am
Commentary – Wed 2 Sep, 11am
The Heartbreak Choir – Wed 2 Dec, 11am

If you have any questions, please let us know via email at development@statetheatrecompany.com.au or call 08 8415 5333.

  • Our audience has told us about the importance of staying active and engaged with the arts over the years. We know that as the years pass or when circumstances change, it can be difficult to keep doing the things you love, like attending the theatre.

At State Theatre Company South Australia, we believe that theatre is for everybody – and a lifestyle change or the loss of a loved one shouldn’t stop you from continuing to do the things that bring you joy. That’s why we created A Date With State, a  program unique to South Australia, supported by Office for Ageing Well and Seniors Card.

To find out more about the program, please email development@statetheatrecompany.com.au  or call us on 08 8415 5333.

Single tickets will be available to purchase from 8 December 2025, excluding tickets to ART, which will only be available via Ticketek.
