A Date With State
Supported by SA Health’s Office for Ageing Well and Seniors Card, our new A Date With State program aims to support older and socially isolated patrons to continue to attend the theatre despite life changes, such as the loss of a partner or new living circumstances.
After selected evening performances of each show in Season 2024, we hold Q&As with our artists and creative teams.
Supported by the Office for Ageing Well and Seniors Card, join us for tea and coffee from one hour before the performance of selected matinees for A Date With State. Stay after the performance to find out more about the process of getting these great plays from page to stage.
There is no additional cost for Q&As or A Date With State, just join us on these dates:
The Children – Wed 14 Feb, 11am
The Questions – Wed 14 Aug, 11am
The Puzzle – Wed 2 Oct, 11am
Jack Maggs – Wed 27 Nov, 11am
If you have any questions, please let us know via email at development@statetheatrecompany.com.au or call 08 8415 5333.

Our audience has told us about the importance of staying active and engaged with the arts over the years. We know that as the years pass or when circumstances change, it can be difficult to keep doing the things you love, like attending the theatre.
At State Theatre Company South Australia, we believe that theatre is for everybody – and a lifestyle change or the loss of a loved one shouldn’t stop you from continuing to do the things that bring you joy. That’s why we created A Date With State, a program unique to South Australia, supported by SA Health’s Office for Ageing Well and Seniors Card.
