A Date With State
Supported by SA Health’s Office for Ageing Well, our new A Date With State program aims to support older and socially isolated patrons to continue to attend the theatre despite life changes, such as the loss of a partner or new living circumstances.
A Date With State officially launches with Season 2021 and we’ve selected five matinee performances for the program (see below). For the price of your show ticket, you’ll be invited to join State Theatre Company South Australia for hospitality and live entertainment. You’ll have the chance to meet our creatives and staff, as well as chat with other like-minded theatre-lovers.

Our audience has told us about the importance of staying active and engaged with the arts over the years. We know that as the years pass or when circumstances change, it can be difficult to keep doing the things you love, like attending the theatre.
At State Theatre Company South Australia, we believe that theatre is for everybody – and a lifestyle change or the loss of a loved one shouldn’t stop you from continuing to do the things that bring you joy. That’s why we created A Date With State, a brand new program unique to South Australia, supported by Office for Ageing Well, SA Health.
