Season 2024

  • Tickets for our State Educate add-on show Symphonie of the Bicycle are currently only available to purchase as an add-on to a 2024 Subscription Package.

    This show cannot be used to form a subscription package, but subscribers get exclusive early access and discounted tickets. Add your tickets at the end of the online booking process, or in the booking form at the back of the 2024 brochure. You must package 4+ plays from the main season before selecting your add-on tickets.

    Single tickets will go on sale on 1 December 2023.

  • State Theatre Company South Australia supports and showcases local theatre companies as part of our STATESIDE program.

    In 2024, our STATESIDE program includes Starweaver presented be Madness of Two and Shore Break presented by Brink Productions.

    Tickets to these shows are currently only available as an add-on to a 2024 Subscription, at the end of the online booking process, or in the booking form at the back of the 2024 brochure.

    You must package 4+ plays from the main season before selecting your add-on tickets.

    Single tickets will go on sale on 1 December 2023 and can be purchased directly from the promoters.

Season 2023

  • State Theatre Company South Australia supports and showcases local theatre companies as part of our STATESIDE program.

    In 2023, our STATESIDE program includes No Strings’ My War and Dead Man’s Cell Phone presented by Caitlin Ellen Moore and Tim Overton.

    Single tickets can be purchased directly from the promoters.

     

Subscriptions

  • A subscription is a pre-purchased package of 4 to 7 plays from our main 2024 Season. It’s the cheapest way of purchasing tickets, you get priority access to the best seats in the house, plus you also get added benefits.

     

  • Subscription tickets are delivered as physical tickets via standard mail, by default. If you book online, you’ll also receive an email confirmation receipt with a detailed description of your order.

  • Value for money! You’ll save up to 20% on single tickets when you package 3 or more plays from our main season.

    We only charge one transaction fee of $9.25 per subscriber, rather than a fee per ticket. Subscribers also receive one free exchange for each show in a subscription package, in case your plans change!

    Subscribers receive priority access to the best seats in the house, with seats in every performance reserved for subscription bookings.

    Subscribers also access discounts for our Add-on show and Stateside program.

  • The easiest way is to subscribe online.

    You can also complete a booking form (either in the back of our brochure, or download a print file here), scan and email to subscriptions@statetheatrecompany.com.au.

    You can also our subscriptions team on 08 8415 5353 and subscribe over the phone (Monday to Friday, 10am – 4pm).

    Please note: forms are processed in the order they are received and take up to ten working days to process. Box office staff will not be able to allocate your seats until your subscription request reaches the front of the queue – so get in quick!

  • To make your subscription booking process as simple as possible, our system automatically assigns you the best available seats for each show in your subscription. If you purchase multiple seats, you will automatically be assigned seats next to each other.

    You will see your assigned seat numbers at the end of the booking path. However, should you have any special requests, you can add them in the seating request notes (click here for instructions on how to find the seating request section on your booking form) or email us at subscriptions@statetheatrecompany.com.au with your booking number and seating request information.

  • We know that flexibility is more important than ever for ticket buyers, which is why we now offer one free exchange per show in your subscription package. This provides all subscribers the confidence to lock in your shows now, even if your plans change later in the year, or purchase a subscription as a gift!

  • Subscribers have one free exchange per show in their subscription. Subsequent exchanges will attract a processing fee. Exchanges can only be made for different performance dates and times, exchanges from one production to another are not permitted.

    State Theatre Company South Australia Subscription ticket exchanges must be made by contacting the State Theatre Company South Australia Ticket Office on 08 8415 5353 or email subscriptions@statetheatrecompany.com.au (Monday to Friday, 10am – 4pm).

    All ticket exchanges must be finalised at least 24 hours prior to the performance you are exchanging out of.

    If the new performance has a higher ticket price, you will need to pay the difference. There are no refunds for cheaper tickets or failure to attend. Tickets cannot be exchanged after the performance for which they were originally booked. Check our ticketing terms and conditions for more information.

  • Groups bookings for up to nine people can be made online.

    Group bookings of ten or more cannot be made online and must be made in a single transaction. To organise your group please return your booking forms together or call 08 8415 5353 (Monday to Friday, 10am – 4pm).

  • Absolutely! If you are under 30 years, you can buy a super cheap subscription. You just need to show your ID indicating your birthdate at the time of purchase or provide a photocopy with your subscription form. The same offer applies to full-time students. Click here to find out more.

  • Concession prices are available to Pension Card Holders and Health Care Card Holders. You will need to show your Concession Card at the time of purchase, or provide a photocopy with your subscription form.

    There are also separate prices for Seniors Card holders.

  • Talk to them about becoming a subscriber so that they can receive all of the benefits that you do! Alternatively, you can book extra tickets for them at the time of subscribing to take advantage of lower additional ticket prices.

  • Supported by the Office for Ageing Well and Seniors Card, join us for tea and coffee from one hour before the performance of selected matinees for A Date With State. Stay after the performance for a Q&A to find out more about the process of getting these great plays from page to stage.

    There is no additional cost for Q&As or A Date With State, just book your tickets for the Matinee performances on these dates:

  • There are a number of ways in which your tickets may be delivered, depending on whether you’ve purchased a single ticket, subscription package and the delivery type you have selected when purchasing. Please contact us at tickets@statetheatrecompany.com.au or call 08 8415 5353 (Monday to Friday, 10am – 4pm) should you require any assistance locating your tickets.

    Subscription Tickets are delivered as physical tickets via standard mail, by default. If you book online, you’ll also receive an email confirmation receipt with a detailed description of your order.

    Single Tickets are delivered via email (Print-at-Home) by default, when booking online. You will receive two emails, one with your order confirmation and receipt, followed by a second email from bookings@statetheatrecompany.com.au with a PDF attachment. If you purchase multiple tickets to the same performance, they will be sent as a single PDF file with multiple pages. This PDF can be downloaded and printed or displayed on your mobile device at the venue.

    Please check your junk or spam email folders if you cannot locate your tickets email in your inbox, or contact us at tickets@statetheatrecompany.com.au.

    Alternatively, you may choose to have your single tickets posted via standard mail or held at the venue box office to be collected before your performance.

    Ticketek: tickets purchased via Ticketek are sent via email. Please contact the Adelaide Festival Centre Ticketek team via phone on 131 246 (Monday to Friday, 10.30am – 4pm).

  • Pay-what-you-can tickets are available for people who hold a Healthcare Card, Pensioner Concession Card, full-time students or MEAA members. Simply donate a minimum of $5 to attend any matinee or Wednesday evening performance. Pay-what-you-can tickets cannot be booked in advance. Tickets can be purchased at the venue box office from 60 minutes before the performance and must be paid for via credit/debit card.

    Pay-what-you-can tickets are subject to availability and are not available for opening night performances.

  • If you require Captioned and Audio Described services, please ensure you book into a performance where the service will be available.

  • A Beyerdynamic Hearing System is available for performances held at the Dunstan Playhouse and Space Theatre for patrons requiring hearing assistance. Transmitter packs can be borrowed from the Box Office in the Dunstan Playhouse foyer 60 minutes before the performance. You may also bring your own headphones.

    Audio enhancement does not need to be indicated when booking.

  • We offer a complimentary companion ticket for Companion/Carer Card holders who attend performances with a patron requiring access support.

    Please indicate your requirement for a companion or carer ticket at the time of booking, or contact our ticketing team. You will be required to provide your companion or carer card number.
