We also collect data externally through the Adelaide Festival Centre ticketing agency, BASS at the time of ticket purchase.  Data is transferred from BASS directly into the State Theatre Company South Australia database via a secure SFTP file drop and import process and your email and postal address information is only provided to State Theatre Company South Australia if you have opted in for BASS to provide it to us. From November 2021, the Adelaide Festival Centre ticketing agency ticketing will be operated by Ticketek and the same data conditions stated will apply.

Why we collect your data

State Theatre Company South Australia collects your personal information for different reasons, depending on the kind of dealings you may have with the company. For example, we may need to notify you in the case of changes in date or time of a performance or to send out supporting notes relating to the show you are attending.

We aim to keep ticket buyers and donors informed about upcoming performances and fundraising activities we are presenting. From time to time we also conduct market research in order to gather valuable information and feedback from you, our audiences.

To achieve and maintain the appropriate level of PCI compliance State Theatre Company South Australia must record a billing address and contact telephone number associated with any credit card transaction processed by us. This means that at the point of purchase both online and over the phone there is a minimum amount of personal information that must be recorded against a transaction. In the instance of credit card fraud investigations, we are obliged to provide this contact information as a point of reference to prove that reasonable steps were taken to avoid participating fraudulent transactions.

 

How we store and maintain your data

Our technology infrastructure may make use of cloud infrastructure or servers located outside Australia. Apart from this, we do not transfer personal information offshore.

If we transfer information offshore, we will only do so with your consent or otherwise in accordance with Australian Privacy Law. We will take reasonable steps to ensure that overseas recipients handle any personal information in compliance with Australian Privacy Law and contractual obligations to maintain the security of the data.

Disclosing your details to a third party

By obligation, we contract out some of our marketing functions and activities to third parties and in some cases, this means disclosing your details to them. For example, we may provide names and addresses to a mailing house to mail our postal advertising such as brochures or letters to you. In these situations, we seek assurances from the relevant third parties that they will not use personal information about you except for the specific purpose for which we supply it. State Theatre Company South Australia has agreements in place with such third parties around how data will be deleted/disposed of once used for the purpose they were contractually engaged to use it for.

We do not disclose names and addresses to third parties for the purposes of allowing them to direct market their products and services.

Analytical Purposes	We use cookies to analyse user activity in order to improve our website. For example, we can use cookies to look at aggregate patterns of how many times people visit a production page on our website and view what they click on to gain insights that help up to understand what content on our website is interesting to our audiences.
User experience	We use cookies to gather information about users such as browser type, country setting and time spent on page to understand our site user preferences and then optimise our website to those preferences. We view this data in Google Analytics however the data does remain anonymous and cannot be purchased or accessed by Google Analytics users.
Marketing	We use cookies from Google Analytics for marketing purposes. These cookies allow us to display State Theatre Company South Australia promotional material to you on other websites you visit across the internet. 2. Facebook conversion tracking pixels

With user permission, our website utilises the Conversion Tracking Pixel service of Facebook Inc, 1601 S. California Ave., Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA (“Facebook”). This tool allows us to follow actions of users after they are redirected to a provider’s website by clicking on a Facebook advertisement. This enables us to record efficiency of Facebook advertisements for statistical and market research purposes. The collected data remains anonymous. This means that we cannot see the personal data of any individual user. However, the collected data is saved by Facebook. Facebook Conversion Tracking also allows Facebook and its partners to show you advertisements on and outside Facebook. In Addition, a cookie will be saved onto your computer for these purposes.

The right to remain anonymous

We respect your right to remain anonymous. Ticket buyers or donors who wish to remain anonymous may do so by completing your transaction over the counter at a BASS outlet. Before attempting to do this, please contact us to ensure that this is the best way to go about your anonymous transaction.

If you do not provide us with the personal information that we reasonably request we may be unable to provide you with the services that you are requesting. For example if you don’t provide us with your contact details when you purchase a ticket, we will be unable to notify you of any changes or cancellations to the event, or replace your tickets if they are lost or stolen.

Opting out of marketing communications, marketing pixels and technologies

We will always ensure key marketing communications, such as direct mail letters or e-newsletters, include an unsubscribe or opt-out option. You can login to your account on our website and view or edit your communication preferences at any time. You can also opt-out of future marketing communications by notifying us in writing, directed to reception at State Theatre Company South Australia or by emailing us. We will then ensure that your name is removed from our mailing list.

When you visit our website, we collect your Use Data via Google Analytics to gain a better understanding of how our audiences use our website, what information they seek and to monitor the use of the transactional path.
