Young tennis stars meet Sunshine Super Girl cast

After being presented with the Ash Barty Cup by Evonne Goolagong at last month’s National Indigenous Tennis Carnival, a group of young tennis stars met up with the cast of Sunshine Super Girl on the Dunstan Playhouse stage to give the cast their award-winning tennis tips.

Serendipitiously, the SA team was in the first audience last month for the show’s Darwin Festival premiere, where the two-time Wimbledon champ herself was also in attendance, along with husband Roger Cawley. The team from South Australia were awarded the Ash Barty Cup for participation and effort.

Tennis players Mia, Jamain, Sam, Sophie and Jayden met with actors Ella Ferris, Lincoln Elliott, Sermsah Bin Saad, Jax Compton and Katina Olsen for a game on the Sunshine Super Girl set and got to play with the props, including the Wimbledon trophy and replica of Evonne Goolagong’s first tennis racquet.
