Thomas Mayo has a new book coming out in August: the second edition of Dear Son: letters and reflections from First Nations fathers and sons.
The new edition includes seven new contributors with letters from Jimi Bani, Kobie Dee, Dane Simpson, Isaac Drandic, Kaleb Mabo, Karl Hampton, Paul Callaghan plus a new foreword from Lauren Appo, as well as the original letters from the first book.
Thomas said, “This is my proudest work because it brings together the perspective of First Nations men who want the next generation of men to be better than we are, without the negative stereotypes about us that are still pervasive in Australia. This book is also a celebration of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander men – a defiance of love, culture and more than 65,000 years of history.”
